First, each lesson really ought to be stand-alone. Shawn's lessons are all linked to other lessons, and if I'm looking for help on a specific point (as I was in this case) I don't want to have to watch 3 other videos to get the help I seek.
Secondly, while Shawn's chatty style is undoubtedly enjoyable in a live lesson, I don't want to have to listen to a 7- minute video to glean 1 minute of instruction. From 2:18-2:51 and from 6:15-6:53 are the key points he is making, the rest is a little wordy, filled with inside jokes and book plugs.
In fact, I find a lot of pros fill their lessons with a lot of statements like "It is what it is" and so on. When you dish out serious bucks for lessons, you want practical advice, not theory and methodology.
Fortunately, these videos are free, so I can't complain too much.
Still, I believe professional instructors ought to be open to ideas that will help their students get a satisfactory learning experience.
Just my 2 cents.
